Part 1: Localization of the new basket

Within the people inhabited places, so villages, towns and cities, we think about our neighbors.

1. Arrival and departure of the bees should not disturb anyone. One should also keep in mind that the bees in the next year could possibly swarm again and so this impressive event will not be concealed from the neighbors. Bee swarms need a lot of airspace, should this airspace be at the bus stop or before a hospital, then substantial disturbances to traffic and people can be lead to, since in the most cases, the bystander is not aware of how harmless and peaceable this spectacle is.

2. Bees are not ants; from the observations of Thomas Seeley, bees choose for a possibility of settlement around 2,50 m to 3,00 m high. One is also allowed to say that the height can be likably more, but should not be less.

3. An important point is the lighting conditions during the night. We humans light up the night with electrical light. This light has, unlike the sunlight, not the same, but another influence to the behavior of the bees and all insects in general. The animals fly towards this light, when it is not a duly distance away from the beehive, and then no longer can find their way home again. A streetlamp as a too close a neighbor is an insurmountable problem.

4. The first question is: which cardinal direction do we place the basket? It is not so easy for us to decide what is sensible for the bees. The sun rises in the east, runs its midday course in the south, sets in the west, and is never seen in the north. When should the sun rays meet the basket? In the morning, midday or first in the evening, or not at all? When the sun meets the basket already in the morning, it means for example, in springtime, as soon as the air around the basket is warmed, the bees are encouraged to take their cleansing flight. The danger for this bee which has taken flight is that when it is in shadowy realms, it can die from the coldness. The bee will freeze before it can reach the company of its sisters in time.
Our baskets mostly have a weather protection. This guarantee protects from the rain, as well from the strong and lasting insolation during the midday.

5. We cannot forget that in the springtime, the cleansing flight of the bees can cause a little problem with the neighbors. During this flight, the vesicle of excrement is emptied, predominantly on light grounds. When the neighbor has his white washing out to dry or his light balcony furniture in the garden, then bee excrement can lead to discontentedness.

6. If the basket hangs over a lawn, then bees will be occasionally be found in the grass during the summer because some bees can't make it to the hive and have to die. Children who play on the lawn can easily step on a bee and get stung.
Death belongs to the life of the bees. It happens naturally everyday;  bees leave the hive and are found directly next to the hive.

7. Of course, a free space underneath the basket is needed, so that the basket be lowered to the ground.
